Trump tried to ask me out: Salma Hayek

Way before Donald Trump landed his wife Melania, he had his eyes set on actress Salma Hayek.

Hayek, 50, revealed on Friday's episode of The Daily Show that the now U.S. president had tried to ask her out through a series of phone calls three years ago, despite having a boyfriend at the time.

“He didn't try to call my grammy for sure,” Hayek told The Daily Show host Trevor Noah.

Hayek told Noah she had attended an event with her then-boyfriend when they met the future president. The actress noted Trump was charming and offered her his jacket when

she was chilly.

Trump then befriended her boyfriend, Hayek said.

“He's like, 'If you guys are in New York, you can come...stay in my hotel. Give me your number. He never talked to my boyfriend again. Now he's calling me and inviting me out, and I say, 'What about my boyfriend? Am I crazy? Are you asking me out? You know I have a boyfriend.'”
