Liverpool Agree to £4.5m Sale of Andre Wisdom

As expected, Derby County have met Liverpool’s valuation for defender Andre Wisdom. Their original off was for £1m and was dismissed by the club amid interest from the likes of Celtic and Birmingham City for the 24-year-old England U21 international.
Both clubs seemed confident that an agreement could be reached, and that seems to be the case. According to the ECHO, the deal is upwards of £2m, with extra payments if certain targets are reached.
Wisdom, who has spent the last four seasons on loan, had no future with the Reds. He spent the 2013/14 season with Derby, where he made 34 appearances under Steve McClaren. He made a positive enough impression that Gary Rowett was keen to have him back for the foreseeable future.
In addition to Derby, Wisdom also went out on loan to West Brom, Norwich, and most recently, Red Bull Salzburg.
While Liverpool have struggled with defensive problems over the last several seasons, it was clear that Wisdom wasn’t even being considered as an option. This move feels a long time coming, but hopefully it will prove to be the right one for everyone involved
