Taylor Swift has dropped to 49th on Forbes’ annual Rich List after her earnings fell by just under £100 million.
The Bad Blood singer topped the annual list of entertainment’s wealthiest people last year, with earnings of £134 million collected – thanks in large part to the global success of her 1989 World Tour. However, Swift took much of last year off in terms of her professional career, which saw her earnings dip by 74% between June 1 2016 and June 1 2017 – although she still raked in £34.8 million over that 12-month period.
The singer surrendered her position at the top of Forbes’ Rich List this year to Sean ‘Diddy’
Combs, who accumulated £102.7 million over the past year. BeyoncĂ© took second spot with £82.5 million, while JK Rowling completed the top three with earnings of £74.6 million.

Swift’s hopes of returning to a loftier position on next year’s Rich List will no doubt be boosted by her recent return to Spotify after a three-year absence from the streaming platform.
While the official reason for the return was to ‘thank’ her fans, keen-eyed observers noted that the ending of Swift’s much-publicised feud with Spotify appeared to be deliberately timed to coincide with the release of rival Katy Perry’s new album, Witness. Bad Blood, indeed.
