Ikeja Electric appeals to customers as rainstorm damages installations

The Management of Ikeja Electric has appealed to its esteemed customers living in some parts of its network over the disruption of power supply to them, caused by the rainstorm that wreaked havoc on its installations last Friday, IWIN reports.
The areas affected include Ilupeju, Ikeja GRA, Adeniyi Jones and Ajao Road, both in Ikeja as well as Ojodu. Others are in Idimu, Egbe, Abule-Egba and Ikorodu. A statement issued by the company’s Head
of Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue, explained that the power outage being experienced in these areas were caused by torrential rainstorm which knocked down electrical poles and other installations.
Ofulue said although the damage done by the rainstorm on the network was huge, customers should be assured of Ikeja Electric’s swiftness in dealing with the situation, noting that teams of engineers have been deployed and are currently working round the clock to ensure power supply is restored to these areas in the shortest possible time.
