A High-Tech Headband That Lets You Control Your Dream While You Are In It

A lucid dream is a dream in which the dreamer is aware of dreaming—while it may sound like a magical, supernatural experience, there are scientific explanations for its occurrence. Some sleep experts and researchers have even stated that it is possible to actively train yourself to lucid dream.

The team behind the LucidCatcher wants to make it possible for anyone to lucid dream more easily—this high-tech wearable device uses “advanced sensor technology found only in sleep labs to track and analyze brainwaves in real-time”.

When the sleeper is in the REM phase of their sleep cycle, the LucidCatcher will use neuromodulation—pulses delivered to the dreamer’s head through dry electrodes—to “awaken” them and let them understand that they are dreaming.

Before you sleep, choose the plot of your dream—according to the creators of LucidCatcher, “your mind [with the help of the LucidCatcher] recreates the VR experience inside of the dream the same way as it recreates a highly emotional day memories during usual dreams”.

The LucidCatcher comes with an app that are filled with guided experiences by other lucid dreamers around the world—you can also share your own dreams with the community, and be notified when someone else have the same dream as you.
